I posted this up locally too, but if anyone up in DSM wants it I could haul it up. I need to come up and go to the courthouse anyway soon for some paperwork.
This is a 2003 Suzuki 600S, and I purchased it off a coworker of mine in a wrecked condition. He had dropped the bike in 2008 and never rode it again. He high sided it going 15mph or so though an intersection apparently. Lucky for me the only thing that really ate it was the clutch lever and left rear set.
I never really like the half-fairing look of the 600S, so I put a GS style single 7" headlight on it. I also replaced the side mirrors with black bar end Napoleon's. Since it had sat so long I did a quickie clean/rebuild of the carbs, new plugs, new fuel filter and new rear brakes. I also lowered the bike 1". Basically I was going for a little budget streetfighter type look. The tires are in excellent condition/like new. Chain and sprockets are likewise in great condition.
The one "bummer" is I never got around to building a bracket to hold the instrument cluster. Obviously I have the cluster though should you want to make one. It also currently has no front turn signals. The only damage really left is on the left rear fairing, some rash about silver dollar sized.
The milage on the bike when I bought it in April was 10,4xx. I've put MAYBE 400-500 miles on it since then. Runs great, and for a 600 gets with it good enough I suppose. Good around town/commuting bike but not a long distance cruiser by any means. I would classify this as a great first motorcycle. Its not so powerful you'll die in 2 days, and not so weak you'll be bored with it in a month.
Asking $1800/obo, no trades wanted. Well ... besides trading me CASH MONEY for the bike
Title is clean and clear, not a salvage bike.
